Members of the Manchester Township Police Department contriubted $2,230 to Special Olympics New Jersey while fending off freezing temperatures and opponents in the 2015 Snow Bowl flag-football tournament at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford.

They posted a 2-1 mark, narrowly missing the playoffs, but made up for it with a strong financial contribution.

Police officers and firefighters from all over New Jersey suited up, squared off and raised more than $440,000. Since the inaugural Snow Bowl eight years ago, the event has produced more than $1,300,000, to help some 24,000 athletes train for 24 Olympic-type sports year-round, without cost, according to Special Olympics New Jersey.

Taking the field for Manchester were Officers Richard Mazza, Albert Vega, Douglas Higgins, Adam Emmons, Robert Maccaquano, David Fusaro, Christian Nazario, Patrick Cervenak, Jason Wiener, Joseph Fastige, Joseph Reilly, Michael Steffen, and team captain Kyle Rickvalsky.
