The Manchester Police Department is the 2012 winner of the Best Dressed Public Safety Uniform Award given by the  North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors.

The awards are given to police and fire departments, public safety organizations and sheriff’s offices throughout North America, that personify professionalism and quality through  appearance. Manchester took first place for agencies with fewer than 100 officers.

Criteria include efficiency of design, innovations for use within the environment and conditions under which uniforms must be worn, achievement of image goals and public identification.

NAUMD voting took place at the group’s March national convention in Las Vegas. Chief Brian Klimakowski accepted the award from Harvey and Bruce Klein of Red The Uniform Tailor, Lakewood.

Suffice to say, if there's trouble, they still don't mind dirtying those uniforms.
