Manchester Police determined woman was just looking for lost dog

Manchester Police would like to make the public aware the woman driving near Sixth and Manchester Streets yesterday was indeed looking for a lost dog and not trying to lure children into her car as had been reported.

An investigation into the incident found two children who were approached by the woman in the green car, one of who said the driver asked for them to assist in the search.

Investigators later found the woman works for a legitimate organization that looks for lost dogs around the County.

The woman said she never asked anyone to get into her car and help look for the dog, but Police did warn her to not go forward asking children to assist her.

No charges were reported filed and the children are safe.
