Members of Leisure Village West's Pet Club delivered the check to police at their Wednesday meeeting. Police acknowledge that contributions mitigate the impact on the township budget for expenses related to care, maintenance and training.

"The $1,000.00 donation is greatly appreciated and will be put to good use to purchase items such as training equipment, canine related vehicle equipment, and to pay for additional training for the unit," K-9 Officer Marc Micciula said on accepting the check from Chairperson Roseanne Walters. "It is because of the support of the community, the police administration, and the mayor and council, that the re-establishment of the Manchester Police K-9 Unit was possible."

Micciula and his partner Storm were accompanied by Mayor Kenneth Palmer and Lieutenants Vincent Manco and James Sharkey.

The non-profit Foundation supports youth and community outreach programs, police-related charities, advanced education in law enforcement, and purchase of specialized equipment. The Manchester Police web page contains a tab dedicated to information about the organization.
