Manchester police officer Scott Thompson will be laid to rest on Thursday.

The viewing for Thompson, 47, who died suddenly on Friday while working out at the department's gym, is scheduled for Wednesday from 3 p.m. - 8 p.m at the Oliverie Funeral Home on Ridgeway Road in Manchester. His funeral will be at St. Luke's Church in Toms River on Thursday morning at 10:30 a.m. followed by entombment at Ocean County Park.

In lieu flowers Thompson's family asks for donations to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund Division of Development in Washington D.C.

A GoFundMe.com account has been created by Thompson's fellow officers to assist the  family financially. "Many have asked what they could do to help during this unimaginable time. We felt that setting up this account would give everyone the ability to contribute in some way, whether big or small.
