A Manchester mother charged with hitting a parked car in her neighborhood and leaving the scene, is accused of driving drunk and having empty heroin bags while her five-and-seven-year-old children were unbelted in the back seat, according to Township police.

33-year-old Ester Aidukas was arrested after returning to the accident scene June 28. Police said after striking the vehicle in the Pines Acres Manor Mobile Home Park where she lives, Aidukas grabbed her children and items from her car and fled to a nearby residence. She then returned to the scene and was arrested.

Authorities charged Aidukas with Driving While Intoxicated, Endangering the Welfare of her children, Heroin Possession, Tampering with Evidence, Possession of Paraphernalia, and being Under the Influence of a Narcotic. She also was ticketed for not properly restraining her children. Aidukas' vehicle was impounded. She was taken to the Ocean County Jail.

The Division of Child Protection and Permanency assisted in the investigation.
