This is just awesome...they could go all the way! After winning the District, Section and State titles in July the Manchester Junior League All-Stars begin play in the East Regional Tournament on Saturday morning when they face the Maine state champions in the double elimination tournament being hosted by the Freehold Township Little League.

Managed by Ed Carney the group of 14-year olds will open the tournament against a team from the Hamden-Newburgh Little League at 10 am at Michael J. Tighe Park (formally Liberty Oak Park).

The 10-team tournament runs from Saturday through next Thursday and features teams from Maine to Maryland with the winner advancing to the Junior League World Series in Taylor, Michigan.

In the history of the Manchester Little League they never had a team reach the state tournament on any level before this group!

Way to go kids, coaches and parents!  A big congratulations and good luck from all of  your neighbors and friends here at the Shore....We are all rooting for you!

We had the pleasure of talking to Manager Ed Carney,

**I'd like to send a special thanks to our fantastic Kevin Williams Director of The Shore Sports Network
