Manchester DWI stop leads to hefty heroin haul
It began as a road stop for driving infractions, and escalated into a drug bust, say Manchester Township police.
When David A. Behr, 50, of Beachwood was flagged to a stop at about 11:50 PM Tuesday, Patrolman Keith Craig noted signs of unsteadiness and charged him with driving while impaired (DWI). Then Craig discovered 494 bags of heroin, police said.
Behr now faces four separate possession-related counts. He was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, with bail set at $5,000.
