Manchester driver hospitalized after dump truck crash
A driver from Manchester is recovering from injuries he incurred in a Wednesday afternoon crash in the township involving his SUV and a dump truck.
Robert Jennings, 38, needed extrication from his GMC after the collision with a Mack truck at the intersection of State Highway 70 and County Route 571 at 4:41 PM, according to township police. He was driven to Community Medical Center by Manchester first-aiders.
Kevin Borden, 22, of Jackson, sustained minor injuries and refused medical treatment at the scene, police said.
Borden was westbound on Route 571 in the dump truck when Jennings, westbound on Route 70, attempted a left turn onto the eastbound side of the county road, police said. Both vehicles took heavy damage and needed towing.
Police did not indicate whether any charges are being considered for either driver.
