Manchester Crash Leaves Toms River Woman Hospitalized

A Toms River 21-year-old is in stable condition following a Thursday-night car crash in Manchester.

According to police, Heather Flitton was westbound on Route 571 in a 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt in the township's Ridgeway section and negotiating a left turn onto Fairfield Street at 8:14 PM when her car impacted a 2004 Nissan Maxima headed east, driven by Malgorzat Florasklacza, 28, of Manchester's Pine Lake Park section.

Police say Florasklacza was wearing a seat restraint, but Flitton was unbelted in her car. Flitton was flown to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune. Florasklacza was evaluated at the site by staffers of Quality Medical Transport and declined medical treatment.

Members of Manchester and Ridgeway volunteer fire departments, and Ocean County investigators also tended details at the site. Township Patrolment Tom O'Hare and Ian Bole are continuing the probe.
