Manchester Child Porn Suspect Jailed

Suspicions of online child pornography activity lead Ocean County investigators to a Manchester 65-year-old's doorway.

Modesto Torrres was booked Tuesday after an early morning warrant search, according to information from the office of county Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Members of the High Tech Crime Unit and Manchester police alleged that Torres had downloaded images if children in degrading and lascivious acts.

He was charged with one count each of possession and distribution and placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River, in default of $5,000 bail, authorities said.
