Manasquan Board of Education members accept the resignation of the regional school district's Superintendent. According to the Asbury Park Press, the board voted Tuesday to enter into a separation agreement with 60-year-old Geraldine Margin who has been on administrative leave since September 4th. However, the board has not released the reasons for the abrupt ouster. Margin was in the second year of a three-year contract earning nearly 158-thousand dollars annually. The resignation takes effect October 31st.

The School Board named Robert Mahon, Mayor of Avon-By-The-Sea and former Chief of the Ocean Township School District, to serve as Acting Superintendent.

The district educates over 1700 students from grades K-8 from eight sending districts that include Avon-by-the-Sea , Belmar, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Lake Como, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights.
