A Manalapan waitress faces 15 to 30 years in prison after confessing to sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl she was baby sitting and streaming it over the internet. 33-year-old Jennifer Mahoney pleaded guilty to one count of sexual exploitation of a child in a Trenton federal courtroom today.

Mahoney admitted to abusing the girl on more than one occasion and to the production of child pornography. She also confessed to sexually assaulting the five-year-old and streaming the assault live over the internet via Skype. On one occasion last year, Mahoney says she abused the girl and recorded the abuse on her iPhone, and e-mailed the video to at least one other person.

Mahoney also confessed to viewing other videos of child sexual abuse streamed to her using Skype.

Special agents and the FBI and other law enforcement executed a search warrant at Mahoney's home in Manalapan on December 13th, 2011. Federal officials say they caught up with Mahoney when the images and video chats were discovered on a Texas man's computer.

In addition to the prison time, Mahoney faces a $250,000 fine when she's sentenced on August 22, 2012.

New Jersey U.S. Attorney Paul Fishman credits the FBI Cyber Crimes TAsk Force with the investigation that led to the charges. This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat child sexual exploitation and abuse. For more information visit www.projectsafechildhood.gov
