Man Critically Injured by Car in Waretown

A Lanoka Harbor man is hospitalized in critical condition at Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptune after being struck by a car on Route 9 in Waretown Monday night, according to police. 

NJ.com reports 61-year-old Kenneth Moeller was walking on the shoulder when he was hit from behind around 6:44 p.m. The 33-year-old driver from Little Egg Harbor was not injured.

Route 9 was closed for several hours. The accident remains under investigation.
