Major drug stash seized near school, say Stafford police
Crystal meth, cocaine, LSD, psilocybin, molly, marijuana and brass knuckles, all within 1,000 feet of a school, land a Manahawkin drug suspect in the Ocean County Jail.
Stafford Township police reported that they found more than three pounds of weed, more than a half-ounce of cocaine, about 1,000 tabs of LSD, packaging material, a digital scale, about $620 cash, and several sets of brass knuckles in Justin Wiersig's house in the Ocean Acres section, a stone's throw form Ocean Acres Elementary, during a Wednesday search.
Wiersig, 38, is being detained until his first court appearance, police said. The matter will be heard in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River.
The 7:15 PM search on Voyager Lane arose from a warrant, and involved Stafford and Barnegat police, The Ocean County Prosecutor's Special Operations Group and the county's SWAT team.
Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
