While details are still, for the most part, sparse after the announcement today about over sixty-eight more Macy's locations closing it's doors - we do know one thing, according to the press release on Macy's website: the Macy's location in the Ocean County Mall is safe at this time and will keep it's doors open to Jersey Shore shoppers.

CNN projected that around 10,000 people in total will lose their jobs when all is said and done. Macy's has included the relocation of some associates in the press release:

"Associates displaced by store closings may be offered positions in nearby stores where possible. Eligible full-time and part-time associates who are affected by the store closings will be offered severance benefits."

The press release goes on to state that three Macy's locations in New Jersey will be closed this year:

  • Moorestown, Moorestown, NJ (Opened in 1999 with 107 associates)
  • Voorhees Town Center, Voorhees, NJ (Opened in 1970 with 77 associates);
  • Preakness, Wayne, NJ (Opened in 1963 with 72 associates)
