It's always a ton of fun when we roll out the Vacation of a Lifetime contest. We try to give the option of three totally different trips; a family vacation, a tropical getaway, and a truly exotic locale.

This spring's contest inspired me to take my very own Vacation of a Lifetime.

This year the options were Jamaica, Universal Orlando, and Rome.

I've been due for a real vacation for a number of years now, so I took that inspiration and headed to Rome.

And it truly was a vacation of a lifetime!

I saw things that blew my mind; 2,000 year old buildings, perfectly preserved centuries old art, and jaw-droppingly extravagant rooms filled with the most famous art in the world.

And the food. Oh, the food!

I love my Jersey pizza, but can we agree that nobody does pizza like the birthplace of pizza?

And I got to do it all with my mother, which made the trip that much more special and memorable.

I also have to give a huge shout out and thanks to Brittany and the team at TravelSmiths in Point Pleasant, who helped us plan the vacation every step of the way!

The reason that we give options for Vacation of a Lifetime is because everyone has different tastes and different ideas of the ideal vacation, but please take my advice - if we offer Rome again, take that trip!
