Barbie is an iconic American symbol for generations of girls. But there has been criticism almost as long as there's been Barbie that she is an unrealistic representation of real women and girls. So a designer decided to create a "Normal Barbie".

Nickolay Lamm designed a doll that he said represents a normal 19 year old girl - acne and all.

The proportions are more realistic, and the doll comes with accessories. But instead of high heels and a tiara, she comes with removable tattoos, acne spots, stretch marks, and freckles. In other words, those things that every teenager and young adult deals with growing up.

So click here to take a look at the doll and let us know - do you think this is a good, empowering and realistic way to represent girls and women, or not? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
