Local service academy hopefuls honored in Moorestown

Eleven young Ocean and Burlington County nominees to America's service academies take their families to Moorestown Saturday, where they'll be guests of honor at a reception hosted by Representative Tom MacArthur (R-3).

The reception takes place between 9 AM and 10 AM at the Moorestown Community House, on East Main Street.

MacArthur recommended each one in the group for each of the 11 vacant spots allocated to his Third Congressional District, for the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, NY; the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD; the U.S. Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, CO; and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY.

The nominees: Alexander Lopez, Toms River; Zachary Crosio, Brick Township; Brendan Walsh, Lacey Township; Madeleine Morlino, Moorestown; Rachael Schloo, Mount Holly; Brian Beck, Delran; Joshua Murdy, Hainesport; Russell Bauer, Tabernacle; Conner Cosgrove, Marlton; Joshua Walton, Medford; and Eric Sobocinski, Southampton.
