This was the first big week for prime time TV shows, including This Is Us, A Million Little Things, Law & Order.  However the most riveting drama was not a one hour network show but the almost 9 hours of reality TV that took place in Washington DC Thursday.

I was transfixed by the testimony of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh and his accuser Christine Blasey Ford before the Senate Judiciary Committee and like many of you don’t know what to think.

Even though they told two very different stories about a sexual assault that did or did not take place 35 years ago they were both convincing and emotions ran high as you might expect.  While Ford was pretty much calm and composed Kavanaugh was at times angry and emotional which you can understand from someone whose career and reputation are on the line.

I honestly don’t know who or what to believe as both were credible.  That’s more than I can say for some of the 21 senators on the committee who clearly used their moment in the national spotlight for their own political advantage.

The committee is scheduled to move forward with a vote on Kavanaugh’s nomination this morning.  I wonder whether at this point it would be better for him to withdraw his name from consideration but that’s probably not going to happen.

Let me move on to something a bit lighter.  It’s the fourth weekend of the high school football season and our Jersey Mike’s Game of the Week finds us at Central Regional tonight where the Golden Eagles host Middletown South.

You can hear the broadcast on 92.7 WOBM or watch the live video stream at shoresportsnetwork.com.

Donovan Catholic christens its new field turf surface tonight when they host Asbury Park.  The Griffins had hoped to have the field ready for its first home game a couple of weeks ago but bad weather forced a bit of a delay.

By the way, speaking of TV as I was earlier. I watched A Million Little Things and it’s really good.
