Little Egg Harbor Woman Charged in Cocaine Bust
Two separate probes of drug activity in southern Ocean County converge on one house in Little Egg Harbor and land a 52-year-old woman behind bars to await a court appearance.
Kathleen Muso was charged with possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia late Monday, according to information from the office of county Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.
County detectives executed a search warrant of the Railroad Avenue house, assisted by police from Little Egg Harbor, Stafford Township and New Jersey State Troopers headquartered in Tuckerton.
Authorities say they seized less than a half-ounce of cocaine, digital scales, and packing items commonly used to peddle narcotics and other drugs.
Muso was placed in the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. Her bail was set at $25,000, with no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
Coronato has vowed to shut down drug suppliers that have contributed to the county's 107 overdose deaths in 2013, more than twice the total in the previous year. His multi-tiered approach combines education and parental engagement with stricter and broader law enforcement.
