Little Egg Harbor man crashes into tree in Barnegat car accident

A Little Egg Harbor man died after leaving Warren Grove Road in Barnegat Sunday night and crashed into a tree around 11:18 pm.

Barnegat Police say that a 2011 Chevrolet Avalanche had left the roadway and struck a tree.

The driver, Ender Lopez-Perez, 20, died in the crash.

The lone passenger, a 20-year old male also from Little Egg Harbor was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center as a precaution.

He was evaluated and released.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by Ptl. Ed Hayes of the Barnegat Police Department.

During the response at the scene, a member of the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company was transported to Southern Ocean Medical Center for medical evaluation.

Barnegat Police were assisted by the Barnegat Volunteer First Aid Squad, Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company, Ocean County Sheriff's Department CSI, Stafford Township Police Department, Stafford Township Volunteer Fire Company, and the Little Egg Harbor Police Department.
