Lea Michele found out that her boyfriend and 'Glee' costar Cory Monteith had died via phone call -- and, understandably, she didn't take the news well.

Sources told Us Weekly that Michele found out by phone at 10PM on Saturday, July 13, that Monteith had passed away following an overdose of heroin and alcohol. The party on the other line reportedly was desperate to reach Michele before the news broke to the public.

A pal said, "Lea completely lost her mind. She went crazy, screaming and crying until 3AM."

Not gonna lie -- when you find out the boyfriend you thought was clean just died of an overdose, it doesn't sound that crazy to us.

Another source revealed, "Lea has been inconsolable and feels like she's been hit by a truck. She didn't know he'd started using again."

Despite planning Monteith's funeral and taking control of his memorial services, don't be fooled, a source says: "She's not doing great. She's totally devastated."

Our thoughts are with Michele and with Monteith's family and friends during this heartbreaking time.
