A hearing on the matter to resolve concerns by a neighbor about the loudness of the band has prompted a change in the way the band will warm-up before practice. Richard Caldes, interim Superintendent told The Patch that the drum warm-up will be rotated around the school to keep the noise level down and avoid the students from being in one location.

The Band has been the subject of noise complaints for at least the past three years and prompted a change in Brick Township's noise ordinance after police were called to shut down practices last summer for violating the law.

The amended ordinance clarifies specific dates and times for band practice at both Brick Memorial and Brick High Schools.

The Brick Memorial band holds practices Tuesday through Thursday in the evening.
