The Belmar man who broke into a Bradley Beach home while two brother's their 90's were sound asleep and robbed them back in 2016, will spend the next eight years thinking about it in prison.

Andre Figueroa, 37, of Belmar, was sentenced on Thursday by the Honorable Joseph W. Oxley to eight years in New Jersey State Prison with a four year period of parole ineligibility for a residential nighttime burglary in Bradley Beach, according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Gramiccioni.

Figueroa was found guilty on March 9, 2018 after a three day jury trial before Judge Oxley.

Investigators say Figueroa was seen walking from a home on Bradley Boulevard wearing a red headlamp on his head and carrying a black bag around 11:30 pm on December 5, 2016 by a BBPD Officer.

The officer's attempt to stop the suspect failed at first as Figueroa ignored commands to stop and ran off instead.

He was finally caught after a brief chase that concluded in the parking lot of Vic's restaurant on Main Street.

Upon a return to the scene of the crime, police found a fresh footprint alongside an open window.

The two brothers who live there were uninjured and still sleeping inside.

When they awoke, one of the men told police he was missing clothes, his wallet, credit cards, social security car and about $3,000.00 in cash.

Police found the stolen clothes on the sidewalk which also held the wallet, personal documents, credit cards and cash which were all tossed when Figueroa bolted from the patrolman.

The case was prosecuted by Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Emily Cartmell.

Figueroa is represented by Adam Mitchell, of Freehold.
