The 17-year-old girl, apprehended in Huffy Wallis Park in Forked River Saturday afternoon, was booked on counts of possession of marijuana, possession with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.

Officers responded to the call at 12:47 PM. A search of her car revealed 11 bags of marijuana, packaged for distribution, a digital scale, and other drug-related apparatus, police said.

The teen was also cited for driving without a license and for possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle.

Police released the teen to a parent and impounded the car, alleging that it was being used during the commission of a crime, holding it for possible forfeiture proceedings.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
