Lakewood's faith-based community offers up their facilities to keep storm-displaced families at the Jersey shore. Coalition member Colin Lewis says the offer's in response to information that some of the displaced residents, now being housed at the Pine Belt Arena in Toms River, could soon be sent to shelters in Burlington and Wildwood until closer locations can be found.

Lewis says when clergy members heard of the plans to relocate evacuees, one-by-one they gave estimates on the number of people they could take in "so that number altogether was 45 that we'd be willing to host just so that they don't have to be shipped out of the county right away and then let FEMA try to figure out how they can place them locally."

The Coalition of Lakewood's faith-based community has made contact with FEMA and has a meeting scheduled to discuss the plan.
