According to the Lakewood Scoop, the preteen was negotiating the highway at Eighth Street and was apparently obscured from the driver's sight as the van turned.

Emergency medical workers and township first-aiders lifted the vehicle from atop the child, who reportedly sustained a broken thigh bone and other injuries considered non-life-threatening. He was rushed to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune.
