Authorities believe the burglaries are related, according to The Lakewood Scoop. Hundreds of thousands of dollars and jewelry were stolen during the break-ins, which police said occurred between July 19 and this week.

In the first incident, residents of a home on Adelaide Place were out of town when the suspect or suspects gained entry through a back window and stole more than $200,000 worth of jewelry.

On July 29, a Martin Street home was broken into through a sliding door in the back of the residence, and about $15,000 in cash and jewelry were stolen.

That same night, a West Kennedy Boulevard home was burglarized through a rear sliding door, and about $8,500 in jewelry was stolen, according to The Lakewood Scoop.

The spree continued on August 10, when there was a burglary on Malka Way.

On August 22, a Cedar Row home was broken into and several laptops, jewelry and about $2,500 in cash was stolen. Then two days later, a Parkside Drive resident reported another incident.

Authorities pointed out what was particularly disturbing was that the security cameras were ripped out to avoid leaving evidence behind.

The Lakewood Detective Bureau and CSI are investigating the incidents.
