The arrest occurs just days after Lakewood police spread a surveillance image from a township CVS across several social media platforms and numerous web pages, asking for help in identifying him.

Lakewood police say they were notified by someone who recognized the 23-year-old in a Twitter posting.

Olthaus is accused of running up charges illegally at a gas station, a convenience shop and a pharmacy between March 2 and 9.

Police say Olthaus became aware of the image in cyberspace and indicated that he tried but failed to contact authorities.

He's been released while awaiting proceedings on charges of possession of a stolen credit card and fraudulent use of the card.
