Umbachi Gabra Jackson was indicted Thursday in connection with the death of Kenneth Scott of Jackson at the High Point Condominiums. He faces a first-degree murder charge and two second-degree weapons counts, according to information from the office of Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato.

Jackson has been in custody since his December 2014 arrest. His bail has been continued at $1 million, cash only.

Scott, who had celebrated his 24th birthday on August 28, 2013, was found still alive by Lakewood police who arrived at the complex about 9:53 PM on August 29, authorities said. Emergency medical responders rushed him to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune, where Scott was pronounced dead four hours later.

The county Medical Examiner attributed Scott's death to a bullet in the chest and ruled it a homicide. Investigators determined that the shooting stemmed from an unpaid "Dice Game" bet. Jackson was arrested December 3, 2014 at the same complex where the shooting occurrred.
