Lakewood Man Charged with Drug, Weapon, Hollow-Point Possession
A gun loaded with hollow point ammo, marijuana, and more than $2,000 cash land a Lakewood man behind bars in Monmouth County.
Michael K. Jones, 23, was charged with four weapons- and drug-related counts by Howell police after a Thursday night stop on Route 9 in the township's Freewood Acres section.
Patrolman Nicholas Bondarew discovered the .40-caliber gun, grass, money and drug-related gear during a consent search after the stop, police said.
The Nissan Altima driven by Jones was impounded. He was sent to the Monmouth County Correctinal Institute in Freehold with bail set at $55,000, police said.
