Lakewood Firm Eyes Former Ft. Monmouth VA Clinic
In the wake of Commvault's announced move from Oceanport to the Tinton Falls side of the former Fort Monmouth tract, a Lakewood company takes interest in the former Veterans' Administration outpatient clinic on Oceanport's portion of the property.
AcuteCare Health Services is in discussions with the Fort Monmouth Economic Revitalization Authority to expand into the structure with services for frail and elderly patients, while filling the rest of it with other health care-based firms.
A company official predicts that it could bring up to 200 jobs to Oceanport, and could be ready within a year and a half, subject to approval by New Jersey and U.S. Army officials.
AcuteCare operates long-term acute-care hospitals at two Barnabas Health affiliates: Kimball Medical Center in Lakewood and Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch.
