Lakewood officials will reportedly not be enforcing its ban on open fires on the wooded property occupied by Tent City while they try to find its occupants housing. That's the gist of a letter sent to State Superior Court Judge Joseph Foster in the Ocean County vicinage, according to the Asbury Park Press. The decision follows a restraining order filed by the homeless encampment's Attorney Jeffrey Wild in November to prevent enforcement of the ban.

Meanwhile, a hearing on the township's request to have 36 non-compliant Tent City dwellers removed, has been postponed until January. 122 Tent City occupants have registered as being homeless and living in the encampment.
