On WOBM-AM's Townsquare Tonight guest host Kevin Williams talks about the team's home opener at First Energy Park on Thursday April 10th with BlueClaws General Manager Brandon Morano.

"There's the glitz and glamor of opening night that you just want to be there for, formal introductions of the teams, all the dignitaries will be there. It's a special night, it always is, there's just something in the air with opening night," Morano said.

Fans can also expect a few new things at the Lakewood ballpark. "We have renovated our upstairs club. We knocked the wall out and now you can see the field. You're going to see a new look with our concessions. We've got some new portables, some new locations, we're gonna have some new items on the menu," Morano explained.

He said renovations to the upstairs club now makes it possible for fans to buy individual luxury seats instead of an entire suite. He also said they added a grill to its outdoor bar area.

However, Morano said it's his responsibility to make sure fans have a great time every time they come to the stadium even if their team loses. He said he and the rest of the staff view their jobs as hosting a big party for everyone at all 70 home games this season and they'll do that with promotional events, gift items and fireworks.

"Senior Night Tuesday seniors eat free. We have what's called a Silver Sluggers program, Baseball Bingo, You know it's just a fun night and it's a package that gifts come with it," Morano said.

He said the Phillies will be sending some of the Major League players to join the Blueclaws. They'll even be holding a ceremony to retire another former player's number.
