Lakewood BlueClaws’ GM Leaves For Rutgers Job

The general manager of the Lakewood BlueClaws has resigned to become the chief marketing officer for Rutgers' athletic department.

Athletic director Tim Pernetti said Tuesday that Geoff Brown will join the department as the senior associate athletic director. He will manage and supervise the external operations in the department, including all revenue-related functions of the departments of athletic development, ticketing and marketing.

Brown will serve as the liaison for corporate sales and media rights holders, and will be responsible for enhancing customer service and increasing revenue.

Brown arrives after a 19-year stint in minor league baseball, including the past 13 with the BlueClaws, an affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. He was a three-time general manager of the year in the South Atlantic League.
