Lakehurst pair busted for July theft, arrested for stealing a car in August

A Lakehurst man and his alleged accomplice wanted for stealing a car among other theft related charges earlier this month have been arrested.

21-year old Scott Parker and 22-year old Thea Deehan both face various offenses for stealing a car at the 'Lucky-7 Deli' on Route 70, dumping it somewhere in Trenton and using credit cards that weren't theirs to buy things at several stores.

The investigation began on Wednesday August 8 around 3:51 PM at the Lucky 7 Deli on a report of a stolen vehicle.

The victim reported that his 2011 Hyundai Sonata had been stolen from the parking lot.

A week long investigation led to the identification of a suspect, Scott W. Parker and a person of interest, Thea M. Deehan.

Probable cause was developed and a warrant was issued for Parker's arrest.

On Tuesday of this week around 4:00 PM, Trenton Police advised the Lakehurst Police Department that the stolen vehicle was found and recovered in their jurisdiction.

Two Lakehurst Police Officers responded to Trenton and escorted the vehicle back to to their borough in order to be processed.

The Ocean County Sheriff's Department Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) unit was contacted and assisted with the processing.

On Wednesday those officers saw Parker and Deehan walking near Circle Plaza in Lakehurst.

Parker was arrested without incident and transported to the Lakehurst Police Department for processing.

Deehan was brought to Lakehurst Police Headquarters as well, in order to give a statement about the incident.

During processing, more information was discovered that led to Deehan being placed under arrest as well.

Police also discovered that on Tuesday Parker had also allegedly stolen two credit cards from a woman in Lakehurst and used them to make multiple purchases at different stores.

Parker was processed and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking (Motor Vehicle - 3rd Degree) and Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree) and issued a warrant for the charge.

He was also charged on a second count of Theft by Unlawful Taking (Credit Cards) and issued a summons for that charge.

Parker was processed and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where he was lodged pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior and Lakehurst Municipal Courts.

Deehan was processed and charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking (Motor Vehicle - 3rd Degree) and Receiving Stolen Property (3rd Degree) and was issued a warrant for the charges and transported to the Ocean County Jail, where she was lodged pending a mandatory court appearance with the Ocean County Superior Court.

The public is reminded that all criminal charges are merely accusations and all subjects are innocent until proven guilty.
