Lacey Police Sgt. Paul Sullivan told the Press of Atlantic City, the 14-month-old boy was reaching for hot soup on the kitchen table when he was burned.

The boy's parents took him to Urgent Care at 539 Route 9 North, where it was determined the child's burns were severe enough to transport him to Saint Barnabas. His condition is unknown.

The Lanoka Harbor First Aid Squad and MONOC paramedics responded. The transport was provided by Jeff-STAT medical transport out of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital.
