Officers, led by Chief David Paprota, this week launch the 2016 COP Card collectible program during assemblies at the township Middle School, as well as at Cedar Creek, Mill Pond, Lanoka Harbor and Forked River elementaries.

Starting Monday, March 28, students collect cards at  participating shops and businesses in town, complete checklists, and have them verified by an officer or a teacher. The cards will remain available through the last two weeks of June.

Students who collect all 72 cards become eligible for raffle prizes to be awarded at the end of the school term, in assemblies at each school.

Gifts include bicycles and helmets, iPads, iPods, iTunes cards and other gift cards, headsets and more.

Amid all that, police are arranging "Meet The Officer Day" at the municipal complex, May 21, 10 AM through 2 PM. They plan to feature games, music and dancing, food, prizes - and, quite possibly, a dunk tank.
