A shoplifter gets away cleanly from the Howell Township Target, twice in one week. But he might not be slick enough to evade surveillance cameras.

Howell Township police want to year from you if you recognize either the man seen wheeling a cart through the entrance, or the vehicle he allegedly drove, or both.

The thefts occurred on January 14 and 17 at the Route 9 store. Police said the suspect is seen on video stuffing several Google Home security systems, DVDs and articles of apparel, into a bag before striding out of the store. The combined value of the stolen merchandise is estimated at $1,500.

Police seek the identity of the suspect described as a black, heavy-set male, possibly in his 40s or 50s, of average height, mostly bald, with a mixture of black and gray hair. The vehicle is described as similar to a Honda Odyssey mini-van.

Confidential tips can be e-mailed to Detective Captain Eric Encarnacion, or called in to his line, 732-938-4575, extension 2186.

Charges are accusations. Defendants are presumed innocent unless, and until, found guilty in a court of law.
