WASHINGTON, D.C. — The possible presence of peanuts and other nuts has led to the recall of the Clif protein bar for kids.

The varieties included in the recall are the Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Mint, Clif Builder Bar Chocolate Mint, and Clif Kid Zbar Protein Chocolate Chip. All sizes and packages are included in the recall.

Tree nuts such as almonds, Brazil nuts, cashews, hazelnuts, macadamia nuts, pecans, walnuts, and coconuts may also be in the affected bars, and could cause a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction. There has been a small number of complaints after consumers experienced these reactions.

The bars were sold both online and in retail locations across the country, and can be returned to the point of purchase for a refund.

Call 866-526-1970 or check the company's website for additional information.
