None of the injuries appear life-threatening.

Police say most of the children suffered minor injuries and were treated Sunday at the Oyster Festival in Norwalk; others were taken to area hospitals. There were initial reports that some of the injuries were serious but preliminary indications are that they're not.

The ride starts on the ground and sends swings into the air. Authorities say it lost power and the children in the swings fell to the ground. It wasn't clear how far off the ground they were when they fell.

Other rides were briefly shut down but reopened.

Norwalk police have called in the state fire marshal's office to investigate.
