Surveillance video leads investigators probing an armed robbery at a Keyport service station to a suspect in nearby Matawan.

Richard E. Kinzler, 25, was arrested Wednesday in connection with last week's incident inside the convenience store at the Shell station on Clark Street, according to information from the office of acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Chris Grammiccioni.

Kinzler is accused of wielding a knife in the direction of the counter clerk and taking off with the cash register at about 2:30 AM on April 7.

He was apprehended by Keyport police and by New Jersey State Troopers, authorities said.

Kinzler is charged with a first-degree count of armed robbery, and two weapons counts. He was placed in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution in Freehold, with bail set at $150,000 and no option for release on payment of 10 percent.
