Ocean County College will Host “Viking Day” Thursday April 14th from 4 – 7 PM. It's a chance for parents and students to visit the campus and find out info regarding college life. So much goes into a college decision and any chance to be involved and get the most information...is a good thing. I'm a Parent of two "Vikings" and have always found the involvement of parents a good thing. It helps support their children as they begin to venture out on their own.

The event is being touted by O.C.C. Officials as part open house, part accepted student day and part spring day! It’s a day to visit and experience ... as the College says “their people, their campus and their culture”…which I say is a gem here in Ocean County! I'm sure there are many parents in our audience that are beginning the "college" experience with their kids ... so take it from another parent, research and asking questions and visiting schools is the best move you can do as a parent..... the kids will do the rest. So as we start the second half of the school year, it's time to get out and begin the college review.

By the way, no matter what path your children take (there are many options today) being a lil nervous as a parent is totally natural and gets easier with time .... hang in there Mom and Dad!

Viking Day is FREE and open to the public. For more information Call 732-255-0400 or visit www.ocean.edu
