Whenever you go to a sporting event, there are always people wearing jerseys for the team they root for, however sometimes it seems the fan wearing the jersey may be a bit confused.

I love sports and try to go to as many games as possible, and there is one thing that I always notice about certain fans and that is wearing an irrelevant jersey. In my opinion, when going to a game, the only jerseys that should be worn are the two teams playing.  There is no reason to wear a jersey for a team not playing in that specific game or even a jersey from a completely different sport.

This past weekend, I went to Citi Field to see the Mets/Brewers game and there were fans wearing NY Rangers jerseys.  Granted they are in the playoffs and had a game earlier that day, but there was still no need to wear the Rangers jersey to a baseball game.

The only time that it is ever acceptable to wear a jersey of another team is when attending either (a.) an all-star game or (b.) the Super Bowl.  Other than those games, one should never wear a jersey of a team not playing in the game.  Do you remember the guy last baseball season who wore a Miami Marlins jersey to the Giants/Royals World Series games?  There was no need for that jersey to be worn in that stadium.

The reason why All-star games are acceptable is because players from all different teams are represented, therefore that makes it ok.  The reason why I feel any jersey can be worn at the Super Bowl is because the game is played at a neutral site and fans from all over go to be able to watch the Big Game live in person, since it is extremely rare to get a ticket.
