UPDATE: The Manahawkin woman wanted by Jackson Police for her role in a hit-and-run accident on Monday has turned herself in.

25-year old Samantha Oliveira is accused of driving off following the crash and leading police on a high speed chase that ultimately ended on I-195 due to safety concerns.

She faces several charges including obstruction and hindering apprehension.

Jackson Police need your help locating a woman wanted in connection to a hit-and-run on West Countyline Road Monday around 4:25 pm.

Investigators say 25-year old Samantha Oliveira of Manahawkin sped from the scene in a 2013 Hyundai without stopping and was followed by the other involved driver following the crash.

Police spotted Oliveira on East Commodore Boulevard who then took off onto Cedar Swamp Road and then onto I-195 where she reached speeds of 80-mph (in a 65-mph zone) while disregarding the patrolwoman's siren.

Due to public safety concerns regarding the weather conditions and wet roads in addition to possibility of encountering rush hour traffic, Jackson Police ended the pursuit.

Complaint warrants have charged Oliveira with eluding (2nd degree), obstruction and hindering apprehension were signed and she was entered as an NCIC wanted person.

Motor vehicle summons for speeding, reckless driving along with multiple other motor vehicle violations were also issued.

Oliveira has not been located yet.
