Jackson Police were called to the school after a threatening message was discovered in a bathroom according to the Ocean County Police Blotter Faceook page. A section of the high school on  Don Connor Boulevard was evacuated and Ocean County Sheriffs Department Canine Officers were brought in to sniff for explosives.

No explosives were discovered and the school was reopened at 4:30PM Wednesday afternoon.

In a message posted on the school website recounting the investigation, school officials said the building would be open on Wednesday scheduled events.

Officials in their message said they "will be working with police to investigate the matter using our security surveillance system and other methods." In addition, there will be " an increased police presence" at the building on Thursday mainly to make students and staff less anxious and feel safe.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call Jackson Police at 732-928-1111.

Ironically the threat was made on the same day President Obama announced his plans to deal with gun violence following the Newtown, Connecticut shooting. The Jackson Memorial Marching Jaguars will be marching in Obama's inauguration parade on Monday in Washington D.C.
