October 8th...is a special day with dough filled goodness.

Growing up in Pennsylvania we always ate these.  If there was a holiday there was always a plateful of pierogies.  It's a delicious dough filled treat, traditionally filled with potatoes, cheese and maybe even sauerkraut.  I love it with sour cream.  We have this wonderful long-time listener Georgeanne that makes us pierogies every New Year's Eve.  She makes them with fried onions on top...if feels just like home!
