Before I go any further, I want to make one thing very clear - nothing presented here should be taken as an official prediction or warning. But one conspiracy theory website just posted an article suggesting that unusual things are happening along fault lines in The Garden State.

The website, "The Prepper Dome", which serves as a resource for survivalists, posted an article this past weekend suggesting that elevated carbon monoxide readings could be predicting seismic activity right here in New Jersey.

Now, I do have to point out one thing that troubles me about articles like this - they spend nearly three paragraphs expounding on how,

Scary, right?

But then in the next section, the title tells readers that, "Earthquakes CANNOT be predicted, so don’t panic".

The rest of the article presents anecdotal evidence of similar situations in other areas of the world like India and China, and wraps up with,

Kind of a mixed message, don't you think?

Of course in a post-Sandy New Jersey, it's always good to be prepared for an unexpected natural event, but there's also no need to cause panic.

What do you think, is there anything to this or is it just making something out of nothing, and unnecessarily scaring people?
