Initial reports to police indicated a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle traveling at a low speed through the service area shortly after 6:30 p.m., but authorities later said it was possible the unidentified woman may have just fallen, according to the Asbury Park Press.

Authorities said the woman suffered minor injuries and was bleeding from the head. She was taken to Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Troopers were looking for possible witnesses to interview.
